I am a Yellow Birch tree seedling and my friends know me as Betula alleghaniensis. While I can tolerate some shade, I will do best in full sun. I can grow up to 80 feet tall, and I am the longest lived of all the birch species (much longer than my cousin the paper birch). I have a lovely yellow color in fall, and my leaves and twigs smell like wintergreen!

My soil preference is:

Rich, moist soils

My ideal conditions are:

Full sun to partial shade

Acidic conditions if possible!
